MHRD Commonwealth Scholarships 2018 for Masters, Ph.D Programmes in UK

MHRD invites applications from Indian nationals for Commonwealth Scholarships 2018 for Masters, Ph.D Programmes in United Kingdome. The scholarship is meant for students in Master’s and doctoral degree programme from low and middle-income commonwealth countries. The study will commence from September or October next year. There is a cap for the maximum number of nominations i.e. 65. Out of which 26 for the Ph.D programme.

All eligible candidates should apply before 7th February 2018 on the MHRD website. The last date to apply for the scholarship in Electronic Application System (EAS) of Commonwealth Scholarship Commission is 22nd February 2018. It is mandatory for the candidates to apply at both portals to become eligible for the scholarship before the last date. The interview for shortlisted candidates will be held in the first week of March 2018.

Eligibility registration for freshers, online csc registration:
The candidate’s age must not exceed 40 years as on 7th February 2018.
Candidate applying for Master’s course should have completed or expected to complete the Bachelor’s degree by October 2018. The applicant must have secured 60 percent or above marks in social science subjects & 65 percent or above marks in science subjects.
The candidate applying for Ph.D Degree should have completed or expected to complete Master Degree by October 2018. The applicant must have secured 60 percent or above marks in social science subjects & 65 percent or above marks in science subjects
The Ministry of Human Resource Development and CSC does not ask any candidates to take an IELTS (English language) test. However, as a further condition of award, the university may ask the candidate to provide evidence of a particular level of English language proficiency.
